PROCESSION

Aphrodite or Venus is the great postponed, threatened and punished. The goddess represents the enjoyment and freedom of the feminine, sanctioned by religions, and powers through the centuries. The action is presented in a procession from the Art Gallery of the Valparaíso Cultural Park, the city's former prison, to the current Penitentiary that houses the Women's Detention Center. Then the tour takes her back to the place of exhibition.
This bridge between the place of culture and the place of punishment for hundreds of women, is carried out tirelessly by "Pajarxs Entre Púas", a feminist collective participating in this action.

The following video was entirely recorded in the Quillota prison, sexual dissidents module, in an action carried out by Pájarxs entre Púas, with the “Grandiosa” dress. The footage was subsequently edited, adding a text by the artist Diego Argote.
I thank the Foundation, Diego and Freddy Ibarra for editing the material. It is dedicated to those who remain captive in these prison spaces and to the humanity that they are still capable of creating there.
